The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has streamlined and revised the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form (CC-305) on the basis that the revision will increase the response rate of applicants and employees who choose to voluntarily self-identify their disability status. Doing so will aid contractors in developing programs to increase the utilization of people with disabilities. Under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, federal contractors and subcontractors with a contract of at least $50,000 and 50 employees aspire to meet an annual 7% utilization goal for individuals with disabilities.
Federal contractors and subcontractors have until August 4, 2020, to implement the new form into their applicant and employee systems and processes.
For more guidance on implementing the form, please read OFCCP’s Frequently Asked Questions on the topic.
