ABTIN MEHDIZADEGAN’s practice focuses on traditional management-side labor and employment defense. He is active in the firm’s litigation practice and has represented clients in administrative hearings, labor arbitration disputes, at trial settings, and on appeal before the Eighth Circuit and Arkansas Supreme Court. When he is not in the courtroom, Abtin advises clients in matters relating to compliance with federal and state employment and municipal law, transportation law, affirmative action obligations for federal contractors, drafting and negotiating various agreements, and assisting with issues related to public and private corporate governance. In addition to his practice, Abtin is engaged in numerous civic organizations, and he also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Labor and Employment Law to upper-level law students.
Given his commitment to excellence in the practice of law, Abtin has received the Spirit of Maine Award (2019) from the University of Maine, his alma mater, for his professional accomplishments, which include being named the youngest Director in the firm’s history; and the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award (2017) from the Volunteer Organization of the Center for Arkansas Legal Services, for his successful pro bono Supreme Court litigation that sought to protect custody rights of domestic violence survivors. Abtin’s accomplishments have also been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers, Arkansas Business, HR Professionals, Arkansas Life, and, most recently, Best Lawyers in America 2021 in the areas of Labor Law/Management and Litigation/Labor and Employment.
